Okay so I'm at the start of my 36th week,i started having really bad cramping on Fri while at work...didn't worry too much until it continued on Saturday really bad cramps across my abdomen lasting a min or so and it's 4 or 5 back/back and they were coming every 3 hrs like clock work...10,1, 4, 7...called my Dr...said it was just probably false labor..lay down relax take a warm bath...I felt fine the rest of the night Saturday and all day yesterday, then about 4 yesterday evening I got another one of those cramps, this one was followed by lower back pain and an aching pain all the way across my pelvis...a constant pain for literally 2 hours straight...I layed down, took a warm bath nothing helped....called the Dr. again and she had me go in to Labor and Delivery just to make sure everything was okay and it was.... Of course I wasn't in labor....

Anyone else having these pains or similar? This is my 1st so I'm just not sure what to expect...and by the way I haven't even dilated any...she said my cervix is starting to soften but it's still back behind his head...whatever that means...

  1. im in the same position as you i am 36 weeks 3days with baby number one and two weeks was sent to L&D for the same thing. so i can't really tell you if it means baby is coming soon. But i know how you feel i cant wait to meet my little girl. I hope everything gets better for you Good Luck to you and your baby let me know if anything else happens with your cramping as im interested in what i should expect also.

  2. I went through this too. Just false labor. You will know when you are in labor. I was so scared and would run back to the doc's all the time. Always check with doctor by all means. After that relax baby is still kicking right. just make sure of that evey hour or so. contact your doctor always or just go into the er room. ok don't hesitate.

  3. Those are normal some people have braxton-hicks contractions that do not feel real strong, I on the other hand had strong ones with my first two children (Im 24 wks along with my 3rd) rest and relax as much as possible that should help...you will know when the real labor starts because those pains you feel will become more intense and last longer. So rest while you still have some time. Congrats on your baby and Good Luck
