360 divided by1.5? whats the answer?

i know the answer is 240 but why 240? please show me how u got the answer. i keep getting 24 and i know it has o do something with the decimal point

  1. 1.5 = 3/2

    360 / (3/2) = 360 * (2/3) = (360*2)/3 = 720/3 = 240

  2. when you set it up in the division house thing [you know what i'm talking about, right?] its 1.5|360. You have to move the decimal over so it's 15, and then move the decimal in 360 so its 3600. Then you divide 3600 by 15, and its 240! Good luck!

  3. you cannot divide by a number less than one (a fraction). so you must make 1.5 a whole number. to do that, you multipy it by 10. but! for the problem to remain proportionally the same, you must multiply 360 by 10 also. basically, in multiplying by 10 you are moving the decimal one place to the right. you keep getting 24 because you didn't move the decimal on the 360. you must divide 15 into 3600.
