360 question ....please read?

ok so my friend told me that a 360 should be laying on the side,inside of standing up.He said on the side because the heat will travel out of it,but if you stand it up,you have a higher risk of getting a red ring. Is that true???

neither of which matter all that much as i've had mine in both positions, and mine was one of the launch units, the most important thing is to give it breathing space, if it's laying down, don't cover it's vents, if it's standing up, don't put it against anything to cover the vents, just make sure it has breathing room, if you have a launch unit, and you get the red ring, it's nothing you're going to be able to prevent, only solution is to return it to the store for a newer model.

Only things that truely help are the things that increase the airflow within the unit (the attachable fans you're able to get for the back of the unit for example), or keeping it in an open space where there's no restrictions to air flow

Wanted to add, if you do get the red ring, there are things you can do to temporarily fix it, and if you've got no warranty and don't mind opening it for surgery, there are Possible solutions, but nothing is gaurunteed when it comes to the 3 red lights
