My breast are sort of leaking, at least thats what it seems like. I wake up every morning and my bra is moist around my nipples and a stain on my shirt from it. Its really grossing me out. How long does it last? Has this ever happened to you? What does it mean? Also, what is a good store to buy maternity clothes?

:)

thanks!

  1. You are right. That is TMI for me. :)

  2. Well that is callled colostrum, pre milk

If you are breastfeeding that is very important and has many antibodies in it not available anywhere else

The leaking will last even after delivery unless you opt not to breastfeed then they give you a shot to dry up your milk

You dont have very long left, but motherhood has great deals on maternity clothes

  3. It's normal - it is just colostrum and many women leak while pregnant. It just means your b*****s are preparing already! After you give birth, you will continue to have colostrum in larger amounts, and after a few days your milk itself will come in. To keep it from staining and getting you all wet, you could buy breast pads to put in your bra. You can probably find them in the nursing/feeding aisle of any store that has a baby section.

Ok, and unless your title is a typo and you are actually 17 or 27 weeks pregnant, why on earth are you interested in buying maternity clothes at 37 weeks, especially with twins? If you are 37 weeks, you don't have long left at all. In fact, I was going to say congrats to you for making it to 37 weeks with twins.

If 37 is a typo...then one store I like is Motherhood Maternity. If you don't have one near you, you can check them out online. You could also just check the maternity section of stores like Target, JcPenney, etc.

  4. It's colostrum, completely normal, just getting ready for your milk. you can wear breastpads inside your bra if you feel more comfortable.  At 37 weeks with twins, you'll probably be delivering any day now, so why waste money on more maternity clothes?  If nothing fits and you really need something, I would check out WalMart or consignment shops in your neighbourhood.

  5. With twins your hormones are high. The leaking can be normal in a multiple pregnancy. You are far enough in your pregnancy that your body is getting ready for the baby's to come. I would tell the doctor on your next visit. If they get sore, tender to the touch or your nipples become red, call them immediately

  6. your b*****s are just preparing for the job at hand a couple of maternity bra pads should keep you a little more comfy but it'll probably get worse as you breast feed. In a jam a panty liner cut in half can be just as helpful. Also I buy maternity clothes at the good will of course every child I've had was my "last" one he he. Or target and sears have really cute clothes that won't break the bank.

  7. God Bless you that you have made it this far! I too leaked at 19 weeks the whole way to the end! It just means your body is filling up for d day! There are going to be a couple of mouths to feed so your body is preparing. It is very normal and happens to everyone. If you choose to breastfeed it will continue until your babies are weened. If you do not your breastmilk will dry out in the first few weeks of no one nursing on you. To keep yourself comfortable and milk ducts free of infection and clogging, it is important that you keep them dry by using nursing pads and changing them often keeping your areolas dry. Good Luck and Best Wishes!

  8. Yes you are leaking milk.....I did for a month before I delivered all my kids....a single then twins.  It will last up to a year after you deliver. A good store for maternity clothes that is a little harder.  Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or just your favorite store that you shop at.  Don't go over board on the clothes though just a few key pieces should work.  Good luck with the twins they should come any day now.  I had mine at 37 wks.  They were 7lbs 2 oz and 6lbs 10 oz.  I had them 10 days before my scheduled C-section and 6 days before Christmas.  Best Christmas ever I was not allowed to do anything so I was waited on hand and foot by the rest of my family. I also had my husband for over 4 wks because his work gives a 2 wk vacation for Christmas and we had 3 wks of vacation time saved up on top of that.  I had to have a C-section because twin A was side ways. Good luck and have fun(I know hard when you feel like a beached whale).  Lots of love and get ready for the time of your life.

  9. If you're 37 weeks pregnant I would hope you know that your b*****s are leaking milk or colostrum in preparation for your babies. And if you've made it to 37 weeks (???) without maternity clothes, I think you can probably ride it out a few more.

  10. yep its normal, its your breast producing colostrum, the first milk your baby feeds on... its normal for it to start leaking before you give birth... it will probably continue till you give birth and then your b***s will swell up hurt like h**l and have a contant milk flow dribbling out for around 2 weeks after birth! you need to get some breast pads to go inside your bra they soak up the milk and colostrum and stop your b***s from getting sore....

mothercare have some lovely maternity clothes, although most stores are pretty expensive!   i personally got mine from ebay!! loads cheaper and nearly all of them are next to new cos when you think about it your not in them for long!
