Last weeks I had my 37 week appointment and my doctor said that I was 1cm dilated and 80% effaced. He said that that was very good since I am a new mom and usually they arent dilated anything yet. Today I went for my 38 week appointment and he said I was 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. He also said that he touched my cervix so I might see spotting. But he didn't only touch my cervix he was moving his fingers around in there and yeah not so comfortable LOL. He also said to come back Monday and he was going to strip my cervix to get labor started since he is going to be on call that day, but he would be there if I go into labor anytime before then lol which I would hope so! But anyways I talked to my mom and she said oh yeah he did strip your cervix a little today to get things started. After my appointment I was having contractions 5 minutes apart for about an hour. They are pretty much painless or little pain tho. I also have had Ulcerative Colitis (for almost 5 years now) which has been exellent but with that he said I have gained a very high pain tolerance which is why I havent been feeling that much pain during contractions...of which he said I am contracting alot and need to pain attention more closely. So I have been and I do get alot! I havent lost my mucus plug either. Soooooo anyone have any predictions when my little bundle is gonna come?! :D

  1. I am 39 weeks, 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced as well.  And ALSO I've had UC for about 7 years, so I know what you mean about pain tolerance.  I've been having a lot of contractions, especially if I ride in a car.  Lately, I've been having them more and more often, but they are very irregular.  I'm worried that I won't be able to tell how bad they are and my kid will just fall out lol.  But, if it makes you feel any better, my doctor told me today that I may not make it to 40 weeks.  So your baby may be coming soon too!!
