I have Group B Strep and I figure it'd be safer to know when I was going into labor so I can get the IV normal time.. I live an hour away from the hospital and this is my first. But do you think he would induce me? Could he induce me even if I didnt have Group B Strep?

  1. My doctor told me that we could induce any time after 39 weeks unless there is a medical reason to do it sooner.  ask your doc about it.

  2. why that is really a doctor's choice and usually for medical reasons please discuss with your doctor your concerns

  3. You can always ask.  Your doctor likely has a policy.

I was induced because my water broke then labor never started and can tell you that I won't do that again. Being induced also increases your chance of c-section to 46%.
