I am 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first child. I have not lost my mucous plug or had my bloody show yet and my OB said that she won't be giving me an internal exam until 40 weeks as she said that dilation and effacement are n ot good signs for predicting when the baby will come. So I really have no clue as to whether my bub is preparing to come or not. Today, however, I have noticed that I have been sweating a lot and feel like I may have a bit of a fever and bub's movement has slowed considerably. Don't get me wrong - she is till moving a bit so I know she is okay but before today she was moving A LOT.

Anyway, just wondering if either of these things (sweating and slowed bub movement) are signs of impending labour???

  1. Your baby will slow down movements a day or two before labour starts as they save their energy for labour.

Congratulations best of luck with delivery.

  2. they can be yes. but i would go to the hospital and they will put you on a monitor to check the bub as you said the movements have slowed. hope it all goes well for you.

  3. I've been sweating like a monster the last month, so i dont know about that one. With my daughter, she was less active the 2 days before labor started. So maybe he's resting up.
