38 weeks and 5 days pregnant and tummy is smaller?

Ok so I woke up this morning and my hubby noticed that my stomach is a lot smaller today than yesterday. I've done my kick counts and the baby is kicking but not as active. No contracts at this point just really sore in the v****a area. Any ideals as to what my be going on. 1st time mom with baby boy due in 8 days.

No worries- the baby has "dropped" - or settled into your pelvis.  The change in position can make you look smaller. You might be able to breathe better now, but it can be sore (I swear I could feel it when my kid turned her head!)

Call your doctor immediately. You may be in pre-labor stages as well.

the baby could have dropped into position(into the birth canal) if you are really worried call your dr and they can check for you!

As the others stated. The baby has dropped. Completely normal. The baby now has less room to move as she's getting into position. The head is most likely causing the vaginal pain as well. You probably have another week to go. Congrats!!

He's getting ready to come and meet you guys! And I bet he gets here sooner than 8 days. I had the same thing with both my kids and both were born within 2 or 3 days. I was also worried about though because they stop being quite as active but both were fine. BUT if you are really worried call your dr and have them check you out just to be on the safe side.
