38 weeks pregnant and went to the doctors today!?

Question

He checked me and said my cervix is still closed. Came home and I noticed while going to the bathroom and wiping myself there was very light discoloration. I put a q-tip to my v****a and sure enough there was blood. Is that normal?

Yes that's normal. Some doctors will perform a slightly aggressive examination on a woman who is getting close to or past her due date. Sometimes, an aggressive exam can bring on natural labor. My doctor did that for me when I was pregnant with my youngest. A few days after the exam, I went into labor and my healthy baby girl was born a week before the due date. She's now a bossy little 8yo. :D But we still love her.

if you just had a check up today you might have a little blood.  like you said he checked your cervix.  it can happen sometimes.  if your worried about it call your doc.  good luck

It is normal to experience light spotting and/or light contractions after you get checked.  I am also 38 weeks and I have spotted after every time my doctor checks me.

it's most likely because you were checked.  It could possibly be your mucus plug though if it continues.
