38 weeks pregnant with horrible shooting pains, help please!?

This is my 3rd pregnancy, and I've never experienced these pains before. They are not contractions, I'm having a few of those too but nothing more than braxton hicks. It's been going on a couple of weeks but getting worse. It was 1 or 2x a day, but tonight I could barely get through driving home from my daughters gymnastics and getting dinner on the table without stopping multiple times!

The pains shoot in my cervix/pelvis, groin, butt, and down my legs. They make me double over in pain so much so that people think I'm going into labor, but I can't help but to yelp, or double down, etc. It happens more in the evening, mornings aren't so bad. It's worse when I'm walking, but has started happening more even when I sit, I just can't seem to find a position to relieve the pains!

If anyone has experienced this, please let me know if you have any tips to lessen it (other than going delivering of course haha!)

  1. wonder if the baby started to drop and he/she is pushing on a nerve. I would just call the dr. and tell them what it feels like, they should be able to pin point it. Sorry about the pain...and good luck with the pregnancy

  2. call your doc and good luck

  3. Girl I feel your pain!!! I am 38 weeks as well. I get all sorts of weird pains. Can't wait till it's over. I don't have any answers as to relieve them but just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

  4. I experienced shooting pains when I was pregnant on my second child ,it was a bone pushed out of place in my pelvic area ,I could hardly walk and was supposed to get physiotherapy but it sorted itself out when I gave birth by Cesarean section,(I had a cesarean on my first child,)I would see your doctor just to be safe though ,Good Luck.
