know that is never said. what are you talking about. where did you get that phrase from. ive never heard of it

but here

families are familliar

a family is familliar

Apart from being redundant, I guess it's technically correct.

Family is Familiar

"Are" would indicate plural..more than one family. The singular form is "is"

But as the other poster mentioned..it is a little redundant to say.
