As has been the case since the days of Conquistadors to the frontier Americans, I think we vastly underestimate the wisdom of these people.  

They and those before them, whom we have exterminated in genocidal fashion, had conceived a way of life we can scarcely imagine.  Nature dictates what we can and can't do on this planet and is the final arbitor of our fate.  Better to try and get along with her lest we be shrugged off.

And if we all agree to get along with her, so by extension will we will all get along with each other.

You are correct We the people, that is the first three words in the preamble.  Our government and many institutions have lost that basic concept.  If and that is a big if, we the people can come back to the basic concept of self governing we can succeed in any endeavor.

In my PhD program, I learned that a many innovations like the "we" factor you use and things that could really create a difference were not done by just one individual but rather a group of people. I don't think everyone, such as China or India, who carry over a third of the world's population would care to join. So I think that the smaller group needs to make a more diligent effort of saving our planet. It will eventually compell these booming nations to comply.

Your contention that raising the average temperature by a couple of degrees, mostly by raising the night time and coldest winter temperatures, is a dire threat, is without merit in my opinion.  There is no Mother Earth.  The earth is a giant ball of rock.  It is not alive.  There is but a dusting of life on the surface.  Words do mean things.  We should all be good stewards of the environment.  That doesn't include fretting over minor problems and causing great harm to the economy and our way of life in the process.

You know, it would be easier if people who had money actually WANTED to do so verses making a claim at trying to gain power over people.

The Earth has warmed time and time  again over time and if you put the two charts of CO2 and temperature raising over each other you see that the raise in CO2 comes after global warming.  Not the current idea that CO2 causes the warming.

We have been had.  How are you going to control the warming of the earth?  You can't...you can only learn to live with it like you do any of the other natural cycles that happen here on earth.

Drastic times require drastic measures. Unfortunately, as many people as would see the planet healed of the inflicted scars, there are as many or more who are so complacent and ignorant to the facts that I wonder sometimes how we have come so far as a species.

The short answer to repair the planet is GLOBAL HUMAN EXTINCTION. Short of this, man will find a way to kill, destroy and leech from the Earth what resources there are, and give back nothing.

However, Since this is not beneficial to the human race, there is no easy answer.

I've seen more hypocrisy from religious,governmental, and educational institutions then I care to mention. What it will be, is a self appointed selective group dictating how we should conform to a preconceived way of life.
