I am being induced in the morning due to preeclampsia. I have protein in my urine, my kidneys are secreting uric acid into my blood, and my blood pressure is high. I am nervous but yet excited. Doc said today my cervix was thinned and i was dilated to 2-3 cm. Any advice?!?! Thanks!

  1. Bring something to do! A gameboy, crosswords, anything! My friend was induced and it took 12 hours, and she was bored out of her mind!

  2. Get some rest, youre going to need it!

    Good luck!

  3. hang in there tomorrow and just think of that little one coming. I wish you a good labor tomorrow and congratulations.

  4. i had the same thing, although they sent me straight up to labor ward and broke my waters before i even knew what was happening!

one thing i can tell if u have never been induced before is don't expect things to go very fast! in my case anyway i had my water broken at 11am and didnt really feel too much till prob after6pm , started pushing for an hour at about 2am then baby was born at 445am by c section( in wrong position and wouldnt come down)! hopefully ur labour will be a bit faster:)

  5. I know its hard because your nervous and anxious but try to get some sleep ! Good luck and Congratulations :)

  6. Eat a good tasty meal tonight, and get a good night's sleep.

  8. I'm sorry I don't have any advice but I just wanted to tell you congrats and I hope everything will go well.

  9. I would just relax, Make sure ur support friends have everything ready for u to go! Take a warm bath with candles, that helps me! Good luck

  10. tonight try visualising your cervix dilating. Work with your breath and imagine your cervix is opening as wide as the grand canyon. SOunds crazy but Its a type of positive meditation that supposedly works. I was induced 6 months ago with my daughter and it still took around 20 hours for me to dilate enough to let her out. Once you are in labour the last thing you will think about is visualisation techniques so do it before you get induced. every little bit help to ensure a speedy delivery! the meditation with also ensure you get a good nights rest :)
