My baby is moving a heck of alot less today....He's only moving if i push down on my tummy. I tried drinking cold water and i even ate lunch which usually gets him going but i only felt a couple movements. Should i be worried? I know its normal for them to move alot less towards the end but today ive noticed a dramatic decrease. I've also heard that they move less just before labor starts and i did have my membranes stripped yesterday and have been losing my mucus plug. Sound normal? Im at work but ill leave if i need to. Im hoping its just because im going to go into labor soon but this is my first pregnancy so i dont really have anything to compare it to

  1. u might go in any time

  2. my baby didn't move at all the day before I gave birth, I went in to my midwife scared to death and she explained that your baby actually knows when it's time to come out and will "rest up" for the days leading to birth.

  3. It sounds pretty normal, but call your OB to make sure or go directly to the ER just to be sure. Good luck!! and Congratulations for reaching 39 weeks. I'm so happy for you.

  4. If you can leave work ,leave.  Go home, drink a big glass of juice.  lay down on your side (left if you can) and have silence.  Concentrate really hard on feeling movement, even little ones.  You should feel at least 5-6 in 1 hour.  if you don't, try 1 more time to do the same thing and if again you feel less then 5 movements in 1 hour, call your obgyn.

  5. Sounds normal.  He could be sleeping alot more.  When he does move, it should very uncomforatable as his strength increases.  The important thing is that your baby isn't stressed.

make sure to drink lots of water and don't forget to keep a trash bag and beach towel in your car.  Amniaotic fluid can ruin a car seat.

  6. You won' feel him move very much now. There isn't that much room anymore in your stomach and the closer to labor you are the less they move. I wouldn't be concerned unless your doctor tells you there is something to worry about.

  7. I would call your doctor just to be safe, just see what he/she says, if they tell you to leave then go ahead, no need to jump to conclusions and just leave unless you want to, I am 39 weeks pregnant as well and I have actually been feeling him a lot more, they say towards the end they run out of room so you should feel them less but him running out of room seems to make it more painful for me. Just go ahead and call, thats what they're paid for :)

  8. I had that same problem with my oldest son, He was always moving then one day he just stopped so i called my doctor he told me to come see him and he explained the term Braxtin Hicks, So that could be whats going on and in case you don't know what braxtin Hicks are its where you have pre labor its where your body and baby are preparing for labor. Congrats, And good luck, Their a joy to have around.

  9. towards the end you might not feel him as much but do the kick counts. if there is at least then 5 movements in one hour or ten in two hours then your fine, if not i would call your doctor and see what they say
