Last week, at 38 weeks I started getting shooting/stabbing pains in my cervix. It doesn't last for more than a couple of seconds. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and will ask her, but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. Thank you!

  1. Those pains are associated with your cervix effacing or thinning out...its normal!

  2. I am dealing with this too! i'm also 39 weeks and i've been having irregular contractions along with this pain. I went to the doctor today and she said it was normal that it was the baby's head pushing into the cervix, (descending). but I know how you feel!

  3. I had the same pains with all 4 of my pregnancies.  It was the baby putting pressure "kicking" my Urethra.  It sucks, but it's not dangerous.  At least in my situation

  4. Most likely normal. A warm bath at night can help with the adjustments as your baby begins to drop into position. Best wishes, G
