It has collld A/C, 97k Miles (I am told the mileage stopped counting at 96k), dark tint (great for Florida), and he said it needs a bit of a paint job, and he says he's selling it because he wants another car muscle cars don't fit him.

Should I get it? It's $3,500 he said.

  1. A lot  of this depends on "he" .  If he is your grandpa ,it would be much different , than if he is someone you found on the street.  If he is the second type of guy, then you can bet that the odometer stopped at 96k five years ago .  If greandpa says muscle cars don't fit him, it might mean that his back bothers him getting in and out.  If its the other type of fellow , it means that he tried to drive this v6 like a muscle car and that its on its last leg, he's tired of it.  When he says it needs a bit of paint, grandpa might mean that its faded in the Arizona sun. The otherfellow might mean that one side is missing where he slid it along a guardrail.  You should look and you should see and you should have your mechanic check it out.

  2. Go to a salvage auction, I bought my self a 2002 Jetta 1.8T with dark tint, lo pro tires and nice 18" rims. And it cost me 1500 and it was a clean title, oh yea it had only 32.000 miles.

  3. $4,000 1998 Mustang V6

    $6,000 99 to 2001 Mustang V6

    $8,000 V8 1999 to 2000

    $10,000 V6 2003 or a V8 2001

these are the years and engines to consider

this mileage stopped sounds like BS.

    don't buy it.

  4. (Hardly a "muscle car", but anyway...)

I would NOT trust any kind of deal where I didn't know the mileage. This fact alone would tell me to shop elsewhere.

The car's value would be stretching it at $2,000. I'd keep looking.

  5. Go to www.kbb.com and put the information into the pricing system with the information that you do know under private party.  Remember that less than 5% of all used cars are in Excellent condition so look towards fair condition price for this car from what you have provided information wise.

  6. Don't buy this car at all. Find something else, take your time and do some research before you buy. Also consider your budget, gas, maintenance, and insurance.
