'Every Player is Pissed Off' according to Ottawa Senators Daniel Alfredsson -NHL Lockout Update
No one is happy that the National Hockey League (NHL) has had to cancel the entire preseason, a major chunk of the regular season through December the 14th, along with the 2013 Winter Classic and All-Star Game.
Adding fuel to the fire, Ottawa Senators captain and leading forward, Daniel Alfredsson, added that not just one, but “every player is pissed off” about the lockout and want to start playing as soon as possible without further delay, but they also know that
will not be possible right away.
“Every player is pissed off, there’s no question,” the Ottawa Senators captain, according to the Ottawa Sun. “I think we all feel that this could be avoidable. We love to play. We’d almost do anything to play. But if we’re mad or frustrated, we’re not going
to let it dictate negotiations. We just want a fair deal.”
It has been over 70 days now ever since the previous collective bargaining agreement came to an end on September 15th, and now all players, stakeholders and fans, along with some team owners are on the edge of their seats to get back to playing,
watching and supporting hockey at every level.
“We don’t want to run over anybody, or take anything ... and I think that’s the feeling we get from (the owners), that they’re not budging much at all, (that it’s) ‘take this or don’t play’.”

“I think it frustrates a lot of players and at the same time it galvanizes us as well,” Alfredsson went on to say.
When all else has failed, both stakeholders have decided and already started the process of mediation by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, which a nonbinding and third party mediation service provider. Both sides are certainly hopeful of changes
to come quick along with having their reservations respected.
There is no telling how the process may shape up in the upcoming days as the mediators take the stage and work on decided the fate of both sides, but if that still does not work out, the Players’ Association has already said of taking it into the court of
law.
