  1. I select what I read based on the credentials and methods used by the writers. When I read it I read objectively. Just because someone has good credentials and a seemingly logical method doesn't mean that it is without error. If the facts they state match observation and has been tested using accepted means then it's probably correct. Also if you can make useful predictions with information it merits glancing at. I.E creationism cannot be used to predict anything and evolutionary theory can allow me to predict not only viability, but also genetic make up of say my fish (cichlids) when the hybridize.

P.S the link you gave makes some pretty big accusations without backing any of them up. Do you have any proof that evolution is not scientific? Or that materialism is false? Do you have evidence for evolution specifically perpetuating any ideologies? The answer is obviously no or the author would have provided them in the text or footnotes. This type of mindless ranting and unfounded accusations does nothing to justify or lend credence to either creationism nor non-materialism. Sometimes we have to wake up and face the facts, Santa Clause didn't bring presents.

  2. What I assume you mean is "do you only read material that supports evolution"

No. I read a wide range of material, provided it is well presented and respected. This, sadly, rules out a great deal of creationist literiture as it is ranty and often downright stupid.

However, I have read a wide cross section of debate.

There is no doubt there are flaws in evolutionary theory, gaps in understanding or evidence. Areas that are open to contreversy.

However, evolution remains the best explination we have for the development of life. There is no sense in sticking to a belife system that is clearly wrong. As it stands evolution is a useful tool for thinking about the world. When it stops being so, I'll stop adhearing to it.

  3. I can't read, if the good Lord didn't make the written word, then it can't possibly exist right?

  4. I wonder what an 'evolutionist' is.

As selecting reading matter necessarily involves selectivity, as indicated by the word 'selecting', all people obviously read selectively.  What 'objective reading' would actually be is a mystery, unless it refers to reading aboslutely everything that's ever been written regardless of any selection criteria whatsoever.
