'I am now aware of my limitations' asserts Irfan Pathan – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Irfan-Pathan-c1601, the left-arm pacer who has been long forgotten by Indian selectors, seems to be on a comeback trail. The swinger has learned a lot from mistakes that cost him his place in the Men in Blue roster and is now aware of
his limitations as a bowler.
"I was never an out and out pace bowler. I now know my limitations after all the problems I went through. I am now concentrating more on my limitations because at the end of the day what is important is performance,” said Irfan,
who was in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 for the promotion of a reality show based on cricket.
The 27-year-old made a comeback to the Indian ODI team after a span of two and a half years, in a match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in December 2011. The pacer performed well in that game taking two wickets and is hoping for a place in
Indian outfits during the tri-nation series in Australia, in February.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Irfan-c64444 said, “The way my form is going at present I am hoping to do well in whatever match I get to play. Whatever match I get, I won't leave it. There is immense competition in the team now, but the more the competition the more
will be opportunities.”
Irfan first came to the limelight in December, 2003, during a Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 at Adelaide. Since then, the left-arm pacer became a regular member of the Indian team and many cricketing greats deemed Irfan to exhibit
a career similar to that of Pakistani great http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292.
Irfan used to be a fine exponent of reverse swing during the early phase of his career. In-swinging delivery was a key weapon in his arsenal, however, the pacer lost his touch somewhere along the way and thus lost the confidence
of Indian selectors.
The left-arm speedster is now 27 and it looks like he has learned his lesson. Now, the Gujarati lad doesn’t rely on speed solely and the swing in his deliveries seems to be coming back.
Irfan has been playing in India’s domestic competition, the Ranjh Trophy. He is part of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/YK-Pathan-c2815. The left-arm swinger has been in good form with the ball and has taken
21 wickets from five games that he has played in the competition.
