Question:

'Lazy eye' and contacts?

I'm wondering if its possible to get only one contact lense. The reason is that my left eye has whats called lazy eye (amblyopia), which just means that the eye refuses to work, weather or not I use glasses or contacts.

The reason I'm asking is because I want to get contacts but my parents are using the excuse of saying they don't know if you can use contacts with amblyopia. So I looked it up and (duh) you can use them but they won't help, same as having glasses. So now I'm guessing their next excuse will be "Why should we have to pay for 2 when it won't make a difference in one eye?"

  1. I think you can, but always ask professionals to get the right answer. There are surgerical procedures for correcting amblyopia, but can be costly. Consult with your eye doctor.

    Best of luck!
