  1. Having 4 children and 5 grandchildren, i say make sure no sugar or caffeine after suppertime, play with them and keep them busy til bedtime, and make sure all memories of what is done is positive happy memories so they sleep good and sound, just takes time and patience to  make bedtime a pleasant happy time, then they sleep like a baby.

  2. with my 2 1/2 year old, we let her pick out a couple books or stuffie or appropriate toys for bed, she gets about 2-3 total. She gets to bring them to bed to read or play with but is told she has to be quiet...she dosent have to fall alseep right away but to be quiet so her sister and mommy and daddy can. We put her to bed around 730 and have heard her still up playing quietly in bed at 830-9pm. We say as long as she is quiet, she will fall asleep soon enough, and she always does.

  3. I tell my daughter to lay quietly and think about things she likes - care bears, swimming, animals, riding her bike, etc... I say she doesn't have to sleep but needs to lay quietly.  10 times out of 10 she falls asleep shortly.
