'New' Onkyo audio receiver makes loud humming noise?

Hi, I just received an Onkyo sr605 receiver, and once turned on, it makes a loud annoying hum, like a very loud bee. There are no speakers or anything connected, so it's not interference. and my outlet is grounded, and I also tested an older Onkyo receiver on them and it worked fine. The noise is very loud and I haven't connected my speakers to it since I likely will return it.

Is this easily fixable by me? Should I return it? Did maybe a problem happen during shipping? Thank you for reading!

It is a defective power transformer.  It will likely not get better.  It is best to replace it while it is still under warranty, or returnable.  Don't try and fix it yourself, it is an electrocution risk.
