I'm holding an 'overdressed' party next week. Tiaras and top hats, slightly naff canapes, that sort of thing. Really stuck for music, anyone have any ideas?

  1. I agree with the Jazz comment.

These rod stewart CD's are good background music too

Sinatra, Nora Jones are also good choices

  2. Really Classical but dont go overbored because that can get so boring..

also try a song in Step Up (movie) called Time To Dance (bout it)

its kind of hip hop but the violins made it more classical

  3. I'm picturing Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers dancing into the dining room. Go to a *GOOD* music store. Hastings, Virgin, Tower, etc depending on where you live... and tell them what you need. They should be able to help.

Have fun - sounds like a blast!

  4. "Putting on the Ritz" should be the theme song:) ... How about Sinatra songs too?  Records from the heyday in Vegas when it was all glamour and glitz (the "rat pack" with Sinatra, Dean Martin & Sammy Davis Jr.).......

  5. I've got the perfect answer for you. Playboy has a cd called jazz after dark. It would be perfect. Look it up and download some of the songs.  It is all jazz and 'classy music'.

Heres a link to the cd.

  6. Cant beat James Morrison for background jazz music......or even older and more classic is Glenn Miller. Think Bing Crosby.
