'Suh lets emotions take over on field', says' Lions' QB Stafford - NFL News
Ndamukong Suh will be returning back into Detroit Lions roster against Oakland Raiders in game week 15 after completing a two-game suspension.
His teammate and Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford believes that the defensive tackle just needs to control his emotions during the game. Talking to the Dan Patrick Show Stafford said
"He understands what to do, what to say, what not to say, and then he gets on the football field and sometimes I think his emotions get the best of him, especially on Thanksgiving. I think he's learned his lesson. He's ready to
go."
Coach Jim Schwartz who came in for criticism for not doing enough to reign in his fiery players also is confident that Suh will not repeat the mistake again.
"I'd be very surprised if it showed up on his radar again," Schwartz said. "He's a very prideful person. He wants to do anything he can to help the team, so I would be surprised if something like that happened again."
Suh is back in practice at the Lions training ground as the team prepare to face off against the Oakland Raiders. The Lions are in the thick of a race to secure a NFC wildcard playoff spot competing against Chicago Bears and Atlanta
Falcons.
The defensive tackles’ absence from the field through suspension saw the Lions lose once and win once. However, in both games the defence looked particularly shaky and prone to giving away points.
Suh was suspended after the Lions Thanksgiving Day loss to Green Bay Packers. He was seen scuffling after a play with Packers Guard Evan Dietrich-Smith. As Suh got to his feet, he aimed a kick towards Smith’s hand leading him to
be immediately ejected from the field. The National Football League’s disciplinary committee gave the suspension verdict after proceedings on November 29th suspending the DT for games against New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings.
The Lions will face the struggling Oakland Raiders on Sunday and will finish their regular season with games against San Diego Chargers and the National Football Conference North Champions Green Bay Packers.
If the Lions make it to the playoffs, it will be the first time since 1999 for the Detroit based franchise to make it to the post-season.
