'The last games will show the team’s character', says Eagles' centre Jason Kelce – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles rookie centre Jason Kelce said on Monday that the remaining games of the current season of the National Football League will show the true character of his team.
Eagles are the defending National Football Conference East champions, but this season their hopes of entering the playoffs have almost faded away. At the moment, they are ranked third in the division. With New York Giants and Dallas
Cowboys competing for first place in the division, it has nearly become impossible for Eagles to contemplate their entry into the next round of the league.
The recent loss 38-20 at the hands of American Football Conference East division leader-boards, New England Patriots, was Eagles’ seventh defeat of the season. Their defence was far from satisfactory in the game, and they easily
gave away an early lead, allowing Patriots to dominate them at the Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. They only have four victories to their credit.
However, Kelce thinks that the defending champions are having a tough time this season. According to him, this is the moment when one can show their true character. He said that Eagles would play the remaining games of the season
with determination to win.
"These last five games? I think they'll show the character," Kelce said. "Whenever you're facing adversity, or whenever you're put in a situation where it's tough, you don't know what the outcome is going to be for the year and
everything else. I think true character. Everybody can play when you're up and when things are going well, but when you're backed into a corner, when you're down, that's when true character shows."
Meanwhile, defensive end Trent Cole has also attempted to remove some dirt Eagles are receiving from the fans for the failure this season. He said that the team has many great players and it is difficult to see the team losing.
However, he said that the players are not going to give up in these circumstances and that they will try hard to win the next games.
Eagles are going to face Seattle Seahawks on Thursday in the week 13 game of the current season.
