  1. ps3 is just like a computer

    if you want free multiplayer

    PS3 is best

  2. I'd have to say the 360, only because I have a 360 (and a Wii, DS, PSP).

What you  need to do is take a look at the console exclusive games and see which system has more titles that you would like. For example, the PS3 has console exclusives like "Resistance: Fall of Man" and the "Final Fantasy" series, but the 360 has "Gears of War" and the "Halo" series. It really depends what kind of games you are looking for.

I do want to add there is a game I'm looking forward to called "FABLE 2" that will be a 360 exclusive. The gameplay in the first "Fable" was awesome.

One thing the 360 has going for it and why I chose it over the PS3 is because of XBOX Live. I think the multi-player online game play for XBOX is way better than anything that Sony and Nintendo has out. XBOX Live is great, and I really like the content the XBOX Marketplace has to offer. If you're not much of an online player, then this may not even be a factor.

Some people are choosing the PS3 because of the Blue-Ray player. I don't suggest choosing the PS3 for this sole reason only because there is still a format war going on for HD-DVD and Blue-Ray. I have neither an HD-DVD nor a Blue-Ray player and I don't plan to get either until this format war is resolved.

FYI, there will be less and less console exclusives in the future, which will mean many developers/publishers will open up their games to multiple consoles. Console exclusives were the reason people would prefer a certain console over another, but many experts predict that their time will end in the industry. Companies are merging with/buying other companies (I think Activision bought Bioware), and also game companies are choosing to end their relationships or exclusivity with the consoles (i.e. "Bungee" and Microsoft") so that the console maker no longer has control. The developers/publishers make more money opening up their game to multiple consoles, which is the reason why console exclusives will go away in the future.

The best thing to do is to buy a couple of gamer magazines, such as "Game Informer" so you can read about current and upcoming releases. I also suggest subscribing to "Electronic Gaming Monthly" (EGM) which is actually a free video game magazine subscription. You may come to find that maybe the 360 nor the PS3 is what you're looking for- and you may be a "Wii" person.

With the 360, don't worry about the original problem with the "red ring of death". They've fixed that situation with the new consoles.
