3D Studio Max Tutorial on integrating models to real footage?

Hello I would like to know how to integrate my 3D Studio Max 8 models into real video footage, perhaps a link to a tutorial video or something like that. I can't seem to find any information on how to do it :( also how can I reduce the size of my 3ds rendered videos cause like 5 second animation saved out to .avi is like 35MB. Please help if you can thanks.

and a way to reduce the size of the models: usually in a video editor there are options to make the .avi (or any other supported format) smaller.
