3rd World War? is it here?

with america going in to help georgia against russia, plus all the other wars around such as Iraq....etc...do you think that the 3rd World War is near?

If America dosen't help Georgia then there will be no war at all since you cant call a world war with just 2 countries

Don't get too excited, Georgia and Russia have hated each other and fought each other for centuries.

Hopefully, the USA will keep it's nose out of this one.

It's got enough happening in Iraq and Afghanistan and the so-called "war on terror".

If we have a Third World War it will be all over very quickly and we'll be vaporised, before we know what's hit us.

You know, ever since World war 2 was finished, people have been saying on every event that "this is going to be world war 3".

Just look at Korea, Vietnam, the Pig bay incident, the first Gulf War...(and I'm forgetting lots of examples).

So, no, I don't think that World war 3 is as near as Doom Prophets would have you think.

Unfortunately,the next world war will be nuclear, how could it not?

Have you heard of the Yom Kippur war in 1973, Israel vs a coalition of Arab nations....Egypt, Syria and Jordan. That was worse than the current situation.....it didn't raise a blip on the world war scenario (not that it didn't have the potention as a spark)...just relegated to the heap of regional conflicts between rump states. When the strategic super powers square off into two camps, then we can talk world war.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, proxy wars, and brinksmanship.... After the next world war, we'll be back into the stone age and you won't have to worry whether a world war occurred or not.  When the US, Russia and/or China square, then come back and we'll talk WW III. The history books haven't declared the Cold War as WWIII or the current war on terror as WWIV. You'll know when WWIII hits, that burst of EMP will be your first warning....

As Einstein is often quoted as saying, WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones..

Some consider the Cold War the third World War.

As for myself, I am inclined to believe that we are headed in the direction of another World War. I think this is inevitable, that there will be no winners only survivors and that civilization as we know it will come to an end. I do not know what will trigger it, but it is my contention that the lack of moral leadership and the choice of ignorance of obvious wrongs for the sake of 'peace' will be the catalyst.
