I live in Rhode Island and i recently got my 3rd speeding ticket but for all 3 i was only written up for 10 mph hour. Will they still take my license away for 30 days?

Should I appear on the court date and plead guilty and see waht they say or should I just pay by mail and wait and see waht happens??

HELP

  1. goto court and plead guilty it looks better, then stop speeding, oh and dont drive to court as they will take your license there and then

  2. JUST PAY BY MAIL AND TRY DRIVING 5MPH MAYBE YOU WON'T GET A TICKET.....WHAT'S THE SPEED LIMIT UP THERE 2MPH?...LOL!

  3. >>  Should I appear on the court date and plead guilty and see waht they say or should I just pay by mail and wait and see waht happens??

No offense but do you think it would make a difference.  If you got 3 speeding ticket, you will get a fourth and fifth if YOU DON'T CHANGE your habits.  That is the real important thing to do.

No change in behavior = eventual suspension. PERIOD.

    Good luck...

  4. What now?? How about stop speeding? Is your getting where you are going in such a hurry more important than the safety of everyone else on the road? You need to get a lawyer right away.

  5. What now? Stop digging your own grave and change your bad habbits. Speed limits are there for a reason

  6. I got 3 tickets within one year.  I paid the first two, and contested the 3rd.   I didn't get my licence taken away on the third one even though I was over the (max) 10 points.  Either they don't care, or the cop didn't check.   I think they didn't care since that was the one I contested.

My friend is a cop and lots of people contest tickets.   You don't even need a lame excuse.  You'll arrive at the courthouse, sit down with the cop for 1 minute, tell him you can't afford it, he'll say O.K. and lower the price, but not the points.   You'll then go into the courtroom, along with all the other "little speed-law breakers" and they'll say "did you agree to this lower price?"   and they'll give you 30 more days to pay it.  Too easy.

    That helped me out tremendously...financially-speaking.
