  1. I thought i was the only one i can't wear my wedding rings to bed anymore because i wake in the middle of the night and my hands and arms are numb and really swollen. its awful i have to sit there and try and wiggle my fingers to the blood flowing again... I wonder why that happens i keep forgetting to ask my doctor...

  2. My arm usually falls to sleep has well when I am sleeping.

  3. i wake up a few times a night because my hand is completley numb! youre not alone, its just another one of those wonderful parts of pregnancy!

  4. no, but i do get leg cramps in my sleep.

the doctors tell me laying on your left side helps with blood circulation - but i always end up on my right side and having leg cramps! i can't help but roll in my sleep :)

  5. You are not alone!

  6. With my first pregnancy, yes.  You are more likely to get Carpal Tunnel during pregnancy as the other poster experienced.

If you have a job requiring repetitious movement such as repeated lifting even of light objects (such as being a cashier) or typing, I would get an ergonomic assessment of your work area which all good employers offer or do some reading online for ideas on ergonomic changes you can make in your line of work.

Once I fixed the height of my keyboard, got a gel mousepad / wrist support, and used my body pillow to give me better lower back support in my desk chair, my wrists, arms and elbows felt much, much better.  I also took rest and did little "twisty" exercises to help them relax while I worked.

**Edit:  And you feel the built up tension in your arms and wrists at night while you sleep.  That's why the pain is worse then.  It's really the result of what you did during the day and sometimes how you are sleeping at night.**

  7. With my son I did and it ended up turning into Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, I had to have surgery on both hands..lucky me. If it gets too uncomfortable try going to the store and buying a wrist and hand brace it will align your arm properly and you will be able to sleep much better, thats what my dr told me when I had it and it worked well. Good Luck!!
