  1. The answer is 4.

    because 3 times 4 is 12

    ...add 2 u get 14

    14 divided 2 is 7

    get it...hope this helps...= P

  2. if your looking for the variable x, it could be 2 or 4

    2 because:

    3x+1=7

         -1  -1

    3x=6

    3x/3=6/3

    x=2

    or

    4 because:

    (3x+2)/2=7

    3x+2=14

         -2   -2

    3x/3=12/3

    x=4

    hope that helps....

  3. x = 2.

    Sorry but there are *not* 2 correct answers to this expression.

    Without altering the expression by inserting brackets (when none exist in the original), x does not - and can not - equal 4.

    It isn't difficult. I've no idea how old you are but I'd say this 'problem' belongs in primary maths.

    Whilst I can see how some people might come up with x=4, in order to get x=4, it would have to be written as (3x + 2) / 2 =  7...which it clearly isn't!

    Remember BIDMAS and notice that there are no brackets in this expression.

    Anyway if you cheat/check and put 3x+2/2=7 into a calculator, it will tell you x=2.

    If x = 4, the expression would have to be 3x + 2/2 = 13

    Those people who believe x=4 are effectively doing:

    (3x + 2 )/ 2 = 7 -->

    (3 x 4 +2)/ 2 = 7 -->

    14/2 = 7 -->

    7=7

    which is correct, but is not what the expression is actually asking you for!!.

    What this (wholly unbracketed!) expression is actually asking you to do is:

    3x + 2/2 = 7 -->

    3 x 2 + 2/2 = 7 -->

    3 x 2 + 1 = 7 -->

    6 + 1 = 7 -->

    7 = 7

    If x=4, it becomes 3 x 4 + 2/2 --> 3x4+1 -->13

    Or in other words:

    those who reckon x=4 are inadvertently doing

    3 x 4 + 2

    ------------   =  7

         2

    BUT

    what the expression is actually asking for is:  3 x 2 +

    2

               --- = 7

                2

    x = 2.

    Or another, 'nother way:

    3x + 2/2 = 7 (remember: no brackets!)

    3x + 1 = 7 (now can you see why x=2!)

    3x = 7 - 1

    3x = 6

    x = 6/3

    x = 2.

  4. 3x + 2/2 = 7

    2/2=1

    3x + 1 = 7

          -1    -1

    3x + 0 = 6

    3x = 6

    6/3= 2

    x = 2?

    I don't know: I suck at math!!!

  5. x = 4  : 3 times 4 is 12 plus 2 is 14 divided by 2 is 7

  6. Firstly, we must do reverse PEMDAS.

    Just by looking at th problem, I see 2/2 can be simplified and made into the number 1.  Therefore, the problem now becomes: 3x+1=7

    Subtract 1 from both sides and you are left with:3x=6

    Divide 3 on both sides and x=2.

    Hope this helps!

    P.S. THE ANSWER CANNOT BE 4 IF YOU FOLLOW PEMDAS!

  7. x=2

    2/2=1

    7-1=6

    6/3=2

    x=2

  8. see this is why math is a F***ED up useless pile of S***! 2 answers for the same question? bah humbug!

    flunk it. i did since grade 8...i got A's - A+'s on everythign else though. but math i just gave up on it since grade 8 onward. i dont need math for what i do anyway (horse riding...) what...im gonna multyply the hairs in Dixie's mane & tail? lol

    anyhow...im 26 now & get a long just fine in life with out math. true the rest of school was A's but still...ya dont need it.

  9. 3x+2/2=7

    3x+1=7

         -1 -1

    3x=6

    /3   /3

    X=2

  10. 4

  11. it's either 2 or 4

  12. 3x+2/2=7

    (multiply both sides by two to get rid of the denominator - 2)

    3x+2 = 14

    (subtract 2 from both sides)

    3x = 12

    (divide both sides by 3)

    x=4

    (you're dividing everything on that one side by 2 right?

    if no, then here's another answer)

    3x+2/2=7

    (simplify the fraction 2/2 which equals 1)

    3x+1=7

    (subtract 1 from both sides)

    3x=6

    (divide both sides by 3)

    x=2

  13. 3x+1=7

    3x=7-1

    3x=6

    x=6\3

    x=2

  14. x=4

    as 7*2=14

    14-2=12

    12/3=4

  15. x=2. first take 2/2 and that is 1. subtract 1from each side and u have 3x=6. divide each side by 3 and u r left with x=2

  16. 3x+2/2 = 7. First, multiply 2 to both sides and you get 3x+2=14. Then, just solve using backward PEMDAS. The answer is 4.

  17. x= 4

  18. 3?

    3x+2 divided by 2 equals 14 divided by 2 =

    cross multiply =

    6x + 4 = 28

    x = 3

  19. x=4

    when you do the order of operations you multiple 3 and 4 and get 12 and then add 2 which equals 14 and then divide 14 by 2 which equals 7.   I hope I helped.   Good Luck!:)

  20. x=2

  21. x=4??

  22. x=4

  23. x = 4
