My 3yo daughter is being bullied by an older child in preschool. I have brought this up to the director and was givent he run around. No one wants to do anything about it. What can I do since this is a preschool? Does my daughter have any rights to not be bullied in preschool? Can the school district do anything about it? I live in Lemoore, Cali. Thank you.

  1. first u can ask to talk to the teacher. if they say u have to make an appointment first, u juz ask them for the principal n u talk to him/her. if also cannot see the principal, then u might have to talk to the child's parents. the bully must be disciplined. if not when he grows up, he might become a bad guy. and for ur child she couldnt be bullied all the time.or else she'll also get the habit. hope i helped.

  2. you could talk to the parent of the child that is bullying your daughter.

  3. You have the same rights in a preschool as in an elementary school.

1st Talk with the other childs mother, POLITELY (although this is the hard part, lol). Don't make threats, accusatory statements etc.. Ask that she step in.

Also, try to set up a play date with your child and the bully. Where it is just the 2 of them. Remove all distraction, to where they are forced to play nicely together. This can actually be the most effective way to get this to stop.

(if this doesn't curb the behavior)

2nd Document every instance and every time you have spoken to the director, along with all statements and "promises".

3rd If all of these instances still fail, make sure they understand, the school is LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE for the safety and wellbeing of your child, if they cannot provide a safe environment other avenues will be taken.(document this conversation as well!!)

  4. Public school district?

If so, follow the chain of command.  Principal, Superintendent, etc.

If not, go back to the director and demand that something be done immediately!  Your daughter has the right to enjoy her preschool in a safe environment.
