  1. Well I'm not sure how there lunch breaks go.. sorry

  2. well you would have to stagger days off to ensure adequate staffing.  Also the start and end times would have to be staggard.  Think about the  4 hours not accounted for, i.e. 2x10=20 vs 3x8=24.

  3. Police officers get paid for lunch - because they can be called off lunch in emergencies.  So it's 10 hours not 10 1/2.

  4. My town has people on 8 and 10 hour days. Both get 1/2 hour for lunch that is not paid. Breaks do not count as they are available for assignment during a break.

So it would be noon to 10:30 p.m. or as we say 1200hrs. to 2230hrs.

Now most supervisors who do checkoff actually allow the officers to come in at the hour (2200hrs.) so they can get their paper work together and move stuff around. They then allow the officers to physically checkoff by 20 minutes after the hour so they have time to change clothes etc.

  5. Doesn't matter, they are on salary.
