Question:

4 12 inch 1200 watt pioneer premier (TS-W1207D4) speakers?

i am putting them in my car...what kind of good cheap amp would power all the subs so im getting all the power out the speakers....they will be back to back in the box...should i go with a multichannel amp or two amps? and am i going to need a drycell battery or just a compacitor?

  1. You can't cheap out on an amp if you bought some quality subs even though I'm not a fan of pioneer...Try going with Pioneers most powerful amp or one by kicker or Alpine..They have some that run at 1500-2000 RMS @ 2 ohms...

    Cheap and good don't go well together


  2. id use one monoblock amp. they are class D and are the best for subwoofer systems. i wouldnt be looknig around for a cheap amp though. cheap price will equal cheap power most of the time.

  3. Those subs will really well with 400 - 500 watts RMS each. Taking in consideration that you have dual 4ohm subs, you can run a single 1500 - 2000 watt RMS amp @ 2ohms or 2 800 - 1000 watt RMS amps at 1ohm. Typically with that much power even class D amps are going to draw 150 - 225 amps. I would suggest an alternator upgrade, an extra battery, and the big 3.
