  1. Which one. He made multiple speeches. If it was before the end of the civil war the south did not like it.

Lincoln was definately not a popular figure in the South during this time.  His speeches would have been ridiculed if they received any attention at all.  Remember that Jefferson Davis was the Confederate President; Lincoln was the enemy.  Lincoln and his speeches were often ridiculed in the North during the war; the Gettyburg Address, one of the finest speeches made in history, was trashed by Northern papers after its presentation.  At the time, many people felt that in order to be worthwhile, a speech had to be long.  The Gettysburg Address can to recited in little more than a minute.
