4 Laws of Unhappiness?

I think this is Buddhism. So I'll ask here. Today in history class, I was reading through the book. And I found something like the 4 laws of unhappiness. Of course, I failed to write it down, and didn't bring the book home. So I've got know way of knowing what they are so I can do more research on them.

Does anyone know what these four laws are called?I know one of them was "To truly gain happiness, one must give up all goals & desires"
