my niece vomited and it was pinkish brown. Can anyone tell me what that is, she's only 4 days old. My sister breast fed her and her nipple was cracked so maybe it was blood. Is that a big problem if she drinks from that breast and is there any other reason she's vomited that colour?? Please help. Thanks.

  1. Yes, it's blood from the cracked nipple. Call a lactation consultant to get that latch fixed. The hospital where she was born should have a lactation consultant on staff who may see her for free.

  2. I hope you have finished reading this and either called your sister's doctor/midwife or you are on your way to an er

  3. All i can think of is it being blood. I would call the pediatrician right away though in case there is another underlying problem. Or ER.

  4. It is most likely due to the cracked nipple HOWEVER, it is essential that you rule our something more serious and get it checked straight away...

  5. I would take the baby to the hospital!!

  6. Your niece probably swollowed some blood - but you need to call your doctor immediately!  Now.

  7. get that poor baby to the er now that is so not normal and why is your sister feeding the baby with her nipple like that she needs to get that check out to

  8. if the nipple is cracked, the baby is feeding on whatever is discharging.  call the OB and pediatrician for medical help.  the nipples should NEVER be "cracked".

  9. honestly i think you should just take the baby to the doctor or pediatrician and ask about it

  10. It is totally not normal! CALL THE DOCTOR! If you can't get ahold of a doctor, go to the ER. Vomiting blood is not good.
