  1. Not enough money for starters.Bring granola bars and fruit. Also a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter make a difference trust me.Dont be afraid to say i can't eat out, just say all this eating out bothers my system.Almonds and other nuts you like would be good.Beef jerkey and anything that doesn't need to be refrigerated.Save your money as you dont really have that much..

  2. in addition to all the answers you have

suggest to your rode trip mates to eat a meal or 2 at buffet restaurants

there cheep-er than fast food & more of a variety

  3. Bring chex mix, dried fruit, nuts, and if you have a cooler you can bring deli meat and cheese, bread and rolls, or just make mini hoagies at home and put them in a cooler. You can bring fried chicken also. It usually keeps pretty well.

  4. nuts are a good snack

    dried fruit

    trail mix

    pretzels

veggies: celery should keep 'ok' on the road

    carrots

fast food tips for calories: SALADs -

  5. Sure bring snack from home: nuts, whole grain crackers, if you have a cooler do yogurt and cheese sticks, fruit, veggies

Since there are 4 of you, how about stopping at a store and getting a rotisserie chicken from the deli and some salads and split the costs for a meal or two.

As to calories, well, you are on a trip so have fun.  Its only 4 days, a little indulgence is fine.

  6. Definitely take food from home for breakfast and snacks and you'll only be paying for two meals a day. Order water instead of a soft drink and you should be able to eat off $15 a day for 2 meals. You can also split entrees with a friend. Have fun on your trip.

  7. I guess it all depends on where your going.  60$ only gives you 15 a day for 3 meals.  That's not much.  Fast food might not hold you over.  Good Luck.  I hope your not a heavy eater.

  8. We travel a lot and we are always on a a budget, we start the day with a very good nutritious breakfast and during lunch time we snack on nuts , granola and cereal bars,  peanut butter sandwiches(no jelly though, stays better), I also boil some eggs, a lot of people do not like boiled eggs but they are good when you travel and they can stay good for like up to 3 days if they are in a cool place, even fruits, we have a small soft sided cooler in which we pack our drinks, this is were we realized the money go, on drinks, the night before we leave I freeze 2-3 bottles of water , that`s the ice for the rest of the stuff, and in the evening we make sure we get a good meal again. We stop at places like Panda Express or Cracker Barrell, where we know the food is good and plenty at a reasonable price. If you are staying in a hotel and you have a small fridge in the room, you can run to a grocery store and grab some milk and cereal, but that only if you can store it. My daughter loves beef jerky and we always carry it with us, everywhere.  Taco Bell is another place where you can get filled with good food at a very cheap price. If you watch your money you can make it cheap, but you have to work on it. Good luck!

  9. Peanubutter and bananas. Cereal store brands. Water by the gallon. Trail mix. Oranges. Apples. Breads. Bottled juice. Order soups and side items like fries or toast at restaurants. Places like ihop or other breakfast restaurants can be quite cheap and good
