  1. As a junior and being new, you have a disadvantage.  You can only be on the JV or Varsity team, no freshman team for you!  Don't be nervous (even though it won't matter because words can't help you in that situation!)  I understand what your going through because I was so nervous during my tryouts freshman year.  All you have to do is calm down and take deep breaths.  KNOW your fundamentals, follow directions, always have a positive attitude, and interact with the other girls.  Coaches always look at how your communicate with others to see if you have the teammate capability.  Good Luck and don't stress it out!

  2. Expect to be watched the entire time, I know that probably doesn't make you feel better but just go out there and do your best. You will need to show them you serving skills and how you dig the ball and attack the ball.

I would just eat something that will not make you sick to your stomach, something light, not too heavy. Take a water bottle with you and stay hydrated.

    Good luck, you'll do fine.

  3. Be confident, Relaxed, and give it your best. If you don't make it there are far worse things in the world going on so you can't make a big thing of it. Trust yourself, trust your friends and I am sure your going to be fine.

As for what to expect, well I can see a ton of girls trying out and yelling and screaming and playing VB. Eat a good breakfast, cereal, Bananas, and please hydrate as much as possible. You don't want to cramp up or not be ready cause you didn't eat enough.

Play your game....do your best and act as if no one is better then you.

    Good Luck

  4. just stay calm talk to some of your friends.and just act normal and you will do fine.

  5. Eat fruit and drink a lot of water.  Don't drink energy drinks.

Expect other girls there to be more experienced and to be more prepared then you are.  They will be and that's fine.  Do your best, do everything by the book, and don't worry about impressing the coaches.  If you're thinking about them you're not thinking about volleyball, and that's going to count against you.  Take a breather, it'll be fine.

  6. well first...just relax. depending on what time tryouts are at, try to go back to sleep for a little.  you really need to have a good nights sleep the day before and during the week.

when you get to your tryouts, try to find a ball and a partner so you can pass and warmup your arms.  if you dont have a partner, you can hit against the wall.  always be the first one back to the group after shagging balls, a drill, etc...in other words hustle your butt off! coaches love that.  during tryouts, imagine yourself making perfect passes, hits, serves, and sets.  i know that sounds completely lame... but it is proven to work. (well atleast thats what my coach says.)  remember...everyone of the girls trying out is trying to take your spot on the team, so dont be all buddy buddy with them until you make the team.  and dont get intimadated by the other girls.

today drink plenty of water! lots of it! you dont want to get dehyrated.  normally i eat whatever i want to eat before games (or tryouts), i just eat a lot earlier, so i dont get cramps and get slowwed down.  but i heard pasta is good to eat before sports.

im sure you will do great but good luck! hope you make varsity! (even though im sure you will)

  7. Just relax girl..Do your best to the try out,if you are willing to join the varsity do your best just relax and say to your mind "Go go i can do this"I'm a volleyball varsity to in the philippines..

    Good luck..
