I refused to go to the hospital at the time of the accident because I know that I would not be able to afford any medical bills because of the baby coming. It was determined at the time of the accident that the other person was at fault and was charged with careless driving. I am having complications with my pregnancy where my stomach is hurting and I am more sick then I was before the accident. I dont have the money to get seen right now. Their insurance company is willing to pay for damages to my car but I dont know how to go about taking this further to where I get help because I have not been able to work since then and I already have crazy bills. What should I do?

  1. You should really go to the doctor and get checked out.  Save the bill or bills and then sue the driver of the car for your costs.  Don't risk the health of your child.

  2. I will tell you what to do!  Listen to our Mother!  I cannot believe I found this question on here.  And you know I'm telling, Ma too.  This is your oldest sister.  That's right!  What should I do.... YOU SHOULD GO TO THE d**n HOSPITAL LIKE WE TOLD YOU TO.  Why do you not listen to your family, but come on a website to get advice from strangers!  And you better select me for the best answer.  Love you, smooches : )

  3. The at fault party will reimburse you for reasonable medical bills and lost wages.  Go get checked out.. and once your confident your okay you will "settle" with them.  What that means is they will offer you a x amount of money and it return you will sign something saying you will not go after their insured for an further damagse.

  4. go the doctor!!! better safe than sorry. other driver would pay for all medical bills.

  5. IM SORRY BUT THIS IS A STUPID QUESTION! YOU ARE PREGNANT COMMON SENSE WILL TELL YOU TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL. IF YOU WOULD OF HIT THEM THEY WOULD OF MADE SURE THEY GOT PAY. USE THAT BABY AS FAR AS YOU CAN. I BET ALL YOUR BILL WILL BE PAY AND HAVE MORE LEFT OVER. I NOT BEING MEAN BUT IM ONLY SPEAKING THE TRUTH. STOP BEING LAZY THATS ALL THAT IS!

  6. You should have gone to the hospital. The medical would have been paid by the other car insurance.

You should still go to the hospital - now.  Most people don't know this but the hospitals CANNOT force you to pay for emergency visit.  They will sound like they will put it on your credit, etc.  But by law emergency is NOT something you planned so you cannot be responsible.  They cannot garnish your wage, and they can't put it on your credit report. If they do, you just tell them to take it off because it is medical emergency and the credit reporting agency has to delete it.

If the complication is the from the accident it will be paid by the other car's insurance.

Either way go see a Lawyer.  You have something like 30 days to file a lawsuit.  The other insurance company may say they will take care of you.  But once the 30 days are over, they will barely return your calls.

    Good Luck...

P.S.  My wife was hit while walking.  And this is what I found out (last month).

  7. For such an instance, i recommend that you immediately consult a lawyer. You should have gone to the hospital at the scene--- and especially since it was not your fault, you would have had all your medical bills paid. You can still go to the doctor, and you definitely should do so. The individual at fault's insurance would have taken care of your medical bills, and will still do so. You should definitely go to the doctor and make sure that everything is ok,  consult a lawyer as soon as possible, and everything should fall into place from there :).... i hope all is well.

    hope it helps
