yesterday we went to a water park, i took my 4 month old daughter. i put her in the water just a little bit. her toes and her legs a little, the sun was really hot. i used sunblock lotion all over her body. i gave her bath there they had hot water in the shower! anyway today she woke up fine. i did notice that she got a little tan. i guess the sun was really hot or i didnt use enough sunblock. well her eyes are red just a little, like a fade red. i was wondering why? because of the sun? the water? the wind? idk im a little worried shes been a little tired the whole day. i have a doc appointment tomorrow morning i just was curious!

  1. Def take to the doctor...the glint of the sun on the water might have burned her little eyeballs (happened to my niece). Although, it would be really painful. If she's not in pain, it's probably the chlorine in the water or maybe the sunscreen ran into her eyes a bit.

  2. It is suggested that you try your best to keep an infant out of the sun for at least the first 6 months. I would definitely get it checked by a doctor because the sun can cause damage to the retinas but there is a good chance that she may have just splashed a little water in her face and it's the after affect of the chlorine which can be rinsed out easily.

  3. Might have conjunctivitis. Could have pick it up at the pool as it is highly contagious. Also, some sun block could have got in her eye, or too much sun itself.

  4. Maybe she got a little water in her eye and the chlorine bothered them. Might be the sun also. Shes probably really tired from being in the sun for a extended amount of time. Anyway... you are doing the right thing by taking her to the Dr.

  5. I don't know about the eyes but you should reapply sunblock about every 30min. even if it is waterproof, it's only waterproof for so long. Just mentioning it cause I know if you don't stay on top of it the kids can get too much sun and by the time they start turning a little pink and are still outside it's too late and they will be burnt pretty bad.
