Question:

4 month old sleep routine?

How many naps during the day does your 4 month old take? How long are the naps? Does he/she sleep through the night? If not how many times does he/she wake up? Trying to figure out if my baby could be doing better with his sleeping habits. He's leaving me beyond exhausted right now. His sleeping routine has changed so much and now I'm getting so much less sleep.

  1. They do that to you~

My son is nearly six months now but he is still doing pretty much the same thing as at 4 months.

    Feed one side

    Bath

    Feed the other side

sleep for 5-6 hours, feed one side

sleep for 3 hours, feed one side

sleep for 3 hours feed one side

    play for one hour feed

    sleep for 1 hour

up for a while after that....

Don't turn the lights out and keep noise down during the day. Let him know it is daytime. At night have a bedtime routine and keep the lights and voices low. That helped us A LOT.

    Good Luck

  2. He takes about 3 naps maybe? And most of the time I have to put him to sleep myself! Sort of like "forced naps" lol, or else he won't do it. The way I get him to do it is by putting him in his little bouncy chair and just keep rocking/bouncing it for him until it rocks him to sleep. Or put him on my chest and beat on his back while singing some songs.

  3. My 4 month old boy will wake up at about 7:30am, have his feed then will have a nap at about 9:30am for about 1hour he's then awake till his lunch and in the afternoon will have another nap that usually lasts 2 hours, but the length can vary quite a  bit at the moment. He'll have his next feed around 3:30pm and maybe have another little nap, depening on the length of his afternoon one. Time for another feed at 7:30 then he goes to bed, usually fully asleep by 8:30-9pm. We'll wake him up for a late about 11pm then he sleeps right through till7:30.

However don't judge yourself too much agaist other people, every baby is different...

  4. My little boy will be four months on Sept 3rd and has changed his sleeping schedule a lot in the past months too.  Right now, he wakes up around 6:30 in the morning, takes a nap between 9 and 10 that lasts about two hours (sometimes one and a half).  He is up until about 2 and then takes another nap for about two more hours.  Somtimes, depending on how tired he is, he will sleep for three hours at the second nap. Then he is up for the duration of the night...til about 830 or 9.  He will sleep five hours at the first stretch of night, waking around 2am.  After that, he is up again at 4am.  That is pretty much his schedule at the moment.  I am sure it will change again as he gets older.

  5. I wonder the same about my four month old little girl. She sleeps about 10 hours at night. Goes to sleep between 8:30 - 9:00 and wakes up between 6:30 - 7:30. During the day she has a nap at around 9:15 for about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours then another nap at around 12:30 for another hour to1 1/2. Then another nap around 4:00 for half hour and then takes another 1/2 nap around 7:00. That is how she has napped this week. When I figure it out, she goes and changes it on me.
