4 vacation thailand or the philipines?

How long is your vacation??    If it is 3 or 4 weeks you can do a week in the Philippines and the rest of the time in Thailand.  Many tourists see more than one country on a vacation.   It is easy to get flights to the Philippines from Bangkok.  Fly to Bangkok - see Thailand a bit and then hop over to Manila and return to Thailand.  Up to  you!

My opinion, (I have been to the Philippines many times,) I find that the hotels in Thailand are cheaper or if you pay the same price you get a better room in Thailand for that same price compared to Manila.

I do think you can do more in Thailand and tours that you get in Thailand are cheaper than what you pay for a similar type tour in the Philippines.

If you are not used to the Philippines you will quickly notice that a lot of simple stores - like Seven Eleven stores, malls, bars, etc. will have armed guards at the doors.    

I like both countries but I think Thailand will give you more value for your dollar, look cleaner and do tourism a little better!

If you want to get scammed by TukTuk drivers, Emerald Bhudda guards, limousine taxi drivers charging 1 1/2 times the regular fare, get accosted by women wanting s*x, getting ripped off by people advertising a certain entrance price, but when you arrive at the gate, the price is 300 Baht more, or go to a party thrown for you and being stuck with the bill for the entire party, then you should definitely go to Thailand.

If you want to enjoy yourself, you should absolutely go to the Philipines.

There are a lot more options in Thailand - from temples, to beaches, to great food.
