My 4 week old is always straining and crying. I am not sure what to do when he is doing this. He still is having stools.yellow and seedy. He is breastfed. I don't know if he is getting too much foremilk. How do I know what is going on with him when he does this? He is already eating 4 oz of breastmilk. Is he getting too much food?

  1. How do you know how much breastmilk he's eating?

    Is his p**p green?

. It is important to know, however, that almost all infants grunt, groan and turn red at this moment. Remember, they have to p**p while lying down, without the assistance of gravity. Therefore, if they seem to have a hard time passing, but what comes out is soft, it is most likely to be normal

  2. No. he's not having too much food. It sounds like he has wind which can be painful to babies tummy. At 4 weeks old try wind drops. They work like a charm and help baby to pass wind and deal with it easily.

  3. No, he's not eating too much.  It sounds like he's got colic.  And there's not much anyone can do to ease it.
