the staff is so rude. I get there & I say good-morning & they just look at me, 1/2 smile or don't even bother looking at me at all.

A teacher quit 4 weeks ago & they still have not filled her spot.

So now the preschoolers AND the toddlers are mixed together.

there are 15-20 kids in one classroom from ages 2-5 yrs old then 6-10 yr olds come around 3pm & they're ALL mixed in there together.

they sit in front of a TV or play on the playground ALL day long.

There is NO learning going on!

I'm so hating this but I don't know what to do.

The director is there daily -and I TRY to ask her questions but each time I ask she claims she can't talk & she runs away---or she'll answer and roll her eyes or answer real short.. like she's annoyed with me asking a simple question!

Yesterday Ms T told me that she was forced to run back and forth between toddler AND pre school classroom TO THE BABY AND INFANT ROOM! OMG! That's alot of babies/kids for ONE teacher! is that legal?

what to do!

  1. I would call state on them. Ratios for children are different for every state. It doesn't sound right to me at all!!!

  2. Well I would take my kid out of there. I do home daycare and its way cheaper than what you are paying and I understand some parents are single moms like myself. When I worked at a center its illegal to have that many kids with not enough staff. I would be too worried that something bad would happen and not enough people to take care of the problem. I would call the state of child services and ask them about it.

  3. If you are so unhappy, then why don't you move her to another place?   You are never going to be happy with this place and that is only going to make you miserable, along with your daughter.  I would move her as quickly as possible!

  4. Call the agency that licenses day care in your area and let them know what is going on. Look into licensed family day care homes in your area. They sometimes cost less.

  5. I'm in Australia and don't know where you are, but surely there must be some legislative guidelines dictating what they can and can't do at a day care centre.

Try contacting your local council  and asking them for a point in the right direction.

Do you have a handbook that was given to you when you enrolled? Maybe there's a head office you can call.
