Please give me some websites on what to do or what will happen as far as a child 35lbs eating soap. she used the potty, washed her hands, then came to me, and had said she ate some soap and her throat was hurting. i have been searching EVERYWHERE online and cant come up with anything. It was Softsoap, liquid soap, and I went to their website, but nothing. plz help. serious help wanted. thank you.

  1. 35 POUNDS? Are you sure you don't mean OUNCES?!

I honestly don't think it would hurt her.

EDIT- Oh, well, eating soap won't hurt her. People wash their children's mouth out with soap all of the time. Plus, if you took her to the Hospital... then the Doctor's will take care of her. What are we supposed to do?

  2. She is fine. You just wasted gas for that? You could of called a medical advice line for that!

  3. im pretty sure she will be fine.  i had quite a mouth on me when i was a child, and consequently i had quite a bit of soap used to wash out my mouth.  and im healthy as a ... uh... healthy person.  also, shes already at the doctors office.  and how much soap did she eat?

and the only poisonous thing in soup is lye (i know! very poisonous!), but when you make the soap... hmmm... you do something to it so that it isnt so poisonous.  thats why you can use soap on your skin without getting a chemical burn.  and you dont immediately go blind when it gets in your eyes.  so, knowing how lye works (it is a fast-working chemical, not a slow working poison), if she ate soap and was fine immediately afterwords, we can conclude that that the worse damage has been done.  except she will probably have some diarrhea.

  4. Well her pipes will certainly be clean. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm sure many people have eaten soap with no serious consequences. Soap is a natural laxative so she might have loose stools for the next couple of days.

  5. I honestly don't know but I really don't think much harm can be done. I don't think you have anything to worry about. They will probably just give her a special drink to dilute the soap. In a couple of weeks you'll probably be laughing about it.

  6. if you read the back of the bottle it usually says like..

    if swallowed:

    ....

    if.. etc:

  7. the worst it could probably do is make her p**p alot  justh ave her drink alot of water.  but i was trying to look it up too and could not find nothing and came across this stuff its weird that this could happen http://www.babycenter.com/400_soap-cravi...
