Question:

4 year old son wets himself at night!?

My 4 year old son has been potty trained since he was 22 months.

But in the last month he has wet himself at night 5 times a week.

Stupid question here but is it like a phase? Me and my boyfriend

have gotten him diapers to where when he goes to bed. We

always remind him to go to the bathroom before bed. It is actually

part of our daily routine! So why did he just start wetting himself?

  1. a lot of kids wet themself.

it'll prolly go away once he gets older.

    no worries.

buy the boy a diaper or something.

  2. It is probably just a phase, but it is sometimes caused by stress or something going on in the child's life. Has there been a change (family coming or going, a vacation, etc) that changed his routine? This could cause it.

Give it a couple of weeks, and if its still going on, call his pediatrician and see what they say about it.

    Good luck!

  3. I would say take him to a doctor and let them check his tonsils my little borther was eight and he always wet the bed there was not a night that went buy that he did'nt wet it then we had his tonsils took out and he stopped wetting the bed so sometimes that is the problem. But also they can give you medicine for that too so go see the doc about it

  4. same here my 3yr old was toilet trained and no bed wetting until we moved home, and she started to wet the bed i never made the link til someone said, think if theres been a change she has started to pick up again but i also introduced a star chart that helps too x

  5. My oldest daughter was potty trained by 3 (pee by 2 and half, but pooping took longer)

Anyway she had trouble staying dry through the night until she was five, which is perfectly normal, around her fifth birthday she stopped and hasn't had a single accident since.

Also my 3.5 year old is potty trained and has been for nearly a year, but she still wears a diaper to bed at night because she sometimes wets the bed.

    here is some info:

Bed-wetting, also known as nighttime incontinence or nocturnal enuresis, isn't a sign of toilet training gone bad. It's often just a developmental stage.

Children who've never been dry at night are considered to have primary enuresis. Children who begin to wet the bed after at least six months of dry nights are considered to have secondary enuresis.

Generally, bed-wetting before age 6 or 7 isn't cause for concern. At this age, nighttime bladder control simply may not be established.

Most kids are fully toilet trained between ages 2 and 4 — but there's no target date for developing complete bladder control. During the preschool years, about 40 percent of children wet the bed. By age 5, bed-wetting remains a problem for only 10 percent to 15 percent of children.

  6. Normal for kids of that age.

    Will grow out of it.

I suggest putting a towel on the bed for a while & maybe where pullups not diapers.

  7. that not normal take the special dampers four night.
