  1. You might need two cavies so that your cavy has a friend to play with when you are away.  Cavies are social animals and do best in a "herd".  two is big enough for a herd.

The bigger the better!  I would say at least 3 ft by 3 ft is the minimum space for two.  Also you need an area that your cavies can run around once a day in.  Create a space in the room, put towels down and a play pen, you can get them at the pet store.  I like to buy a few and put them together for lots of space to popcorn.  (popcorn is a little jump/hop that they do when they are really happy and excited)

make sure they have no electrical wires in their run and cage though, or anything else dangerous!  To get a big cage for really cheap, the best way is to make one.

go to www.guineapigcages.com to learn how to make one.  They are easy to make, easy to keep and cheap!

There is such thing as too big though, if your cavies get uncomfortable in their cage give them more places to hide or less space, they are prey animals and scare easy!

Please do more research on them to learn more.  They are lovely animals to keep if you know how to keep them happy and healthy!

    have fun!

  2. I think so. I have a cage made especially for a guinea pig that's 28"L-16"W. And I have 2 guinea pigs! You can use that cage, I think. best wishes, me and my 2 guinea pigs, Hope and Remmy

  3. that might be just big enough for one, one guinea pig should have at least a 2 foot square space.

but remember, guinea pigs are social creatures and do better with a friend so you might want to think about getting two instead of just one. but then of course, you would need a cage twice the size.

  4. If your guinea pig is not too big, I think you can put it inside.
