40 and dying, want a nice boat to take my kids out cheap or free?

I have conjestive heart failure and twin 5 year old boys. I am looking for a nice boat to take them out in. I sell Real Estate and have great ideas, just very hard to be accountable to my clients anymore

Contact a local yacht club, boating club or sailing club. Most clubs have great commnuity outreach programs.

As a general solution to problem you are dealing with there (no boat but will to go boating) i suggest renting a boat for a day or a weekend.

Here in europe (Finland, europes most expensive country ;  )

just for an example, 35 feet slow going motorboat with sleeping cabins, kitchen and toalet is about 170-250 euro per day, and for a weekend 300-600 euro.

i could imagine that you would get boat like this rented there in usa a bit cheaper.

I have a 21' Crowline that I put on the lakes here in Texas .   You can rent a similar boat for $300-400 for a half day around here .

If you have a Marina anywhere near go there. Don't be pushy or beg for a free ride but visit with boat owners. After you get to know  a few bring up the subject. With the price of fuel they might ask for a few bucks but may not. Most boat owners love to talk boats with anyone and are really nice people.

If you were in Oklahoma I would be glad to take you and your sons for a cruise.

Avoid really big boats and concentrate on owners of pontoons or runabouts

Hi,If you are looking to purchase a nice little say ski boat to spend some time with your boys,to be able to go out when ever you want,maybe something you can do little fishing in,maybe something for inland lakes or rivers rather than the ocean go to eBay motors and type in ski boat,or fishing boat.You should be able to find a nice 16-18 foot runabout with an outboard motor or an inboard outboard for under $1500.00 and you can use it as much as you want and then resell it when the time comes.Is this what you had in mind?If so hope this helps.Good luck and God Bless Dad
