40 mph, 100% precipitation, is it safe to go up the mountains near tahoe

im planning to go ski with these conditions

is it safe to drive up?

will the lifts be open?

  1. Since you are asking all these questions I say no.  There are too many drivers out there who are unsure how to drive in bad conditions.  If you are not comfortable with it, don't do it.  I can't count the amount of times I have not gone over a mountain pass because of bad weather.  My general rule is: if they are requiring chains or snow tires on all vehicles then I don't go.
